As you already know our previous post on MakeUseOf getting hacked got on digg and we were able to help get the word out for the good folks at MUO. We all know that Godaddy lately seems to be under a lot of heat and in all honesty they should. This is not the first time a domain has been snagged from their account by somebody who didn’t own it. Great job Godaddy!

Well godaddy is shitty, nothing new. But the fact that we are starting to see some major flaws on Gmail as well now is quite surprising. This is not the first time a Gmail account got hacked either but emails you could always guess passwords. So we will spare the heat on Gmail. Here is our suggestion on what Godaddy and Gmail can do to better protect their users :

Letter To Godaddy

Dear Bob Parson,

Your company Godaddy is ranked as no.1 domain registrar in the world, please note that this is in the world and not just in North America. This is a huge recognition and quite an achievement. Lately, it seems like Godaddy accounts are not safe at all. I am concerned not about everybody else but I myself have about 150 domains registered through one of the shittiest domain registrars in the world. You can guess where I have my domain registered. Lately with all the hacking and domain transfer that is being done from hackers it seems like something needs to be done.

Bob, I am in no position to tell you what to do but suggestions I sure can. I think its about time Godaddy stops spending dollars on hiring stars like Danica Patrick and spending more dollars to show that you hired celebrities like Danica Patrick. Also the ad dollars that you spend on getting custom godaddy bikes that again promotes the business might as well be spent on securing customers account.

By the way, we like looking at godaddy girls. The only thing we don’t like is what you are spending to bring them onboard when you should really be spending on finding a solution to this growing trend of “hacking” going on.

Letter To Gmail,

Dear Gmail Lab,

We know you guys enjoy your job and google is a great company to work for and all that. But how about having fun and creating something useful, may be some more ways to secure our gmail accounts rather than creating “shit icons.”
