45 Video Game Consoles (1970 - Present)

A while back we compiled images of old computers which you guys seemed to enjoy quite a bit. And the time when all you perverted geeks were getting ready to play with your joystick thinking this was some post for you to get your jollies off. Good times!

Anyway, we are back in full swing today and this time we are going to walk you down the video game memory lane. Below you will find some of the video games that you might have played as a kid or with your kids back in the day. We know for a fact that you will find some that you play today as we get farther down this wonderful memory lane. We thought about adding information along with images but sometimes what’s outside is much better than the inside. Sort of like looking at the girls at a bar.

You guys ready? Ready or not here we go.

Well, that was fun. I used to be quite a gamer myself a couple years ago. But you know how it goes once you get married. Every time I sit down to play a game, my son comes around and says “poopy.” Shit stinks but got to choose my kid over video games….someday, probably when I am 50 I will be back at it. If you think you are going to be around, you got plenty of time to hone your skills. They don’t call me “The Shit” for no reason ;-) . Take care guys and share some gaming stories.

Fairly complete list, but there is one glaring admission. As someone who cut my teeth on the early consoles, I can tell you that the 3 most prevalent consoles in the late 70s and early 80s were the Atari 2600, Intellivision and COLECOVISION. I’m surprised it didn’t make your list.

I concur with Matt. I had a Colecovision around ‘83 and loved it immensely. If I recall it was the only system at that time with Donkey Kong. It also had an optional attachment that allowed you to play Atari 2600 games.

Looks like you have here an almost complete list of game consoles. Gaming can be fun at any age. It’s more fun when you have the money to buy them.

    Missing Jaguar, Saturn, and 3DO!

Cool list though. The Xbox truly is the ugliest console ever made.

The Dreamcast was of the same generation as the PS2 and XBox. The Sega Saturn should perhaps be where the Dreamcast is now as it was a PS1/N64 competitor.
